Not only is Mobile World Conference this week, it's also in Spain...which has to be better than being in cold cold cold Kansas!
So what were the big points at MWC? Huawei is making more of presence than ever before. They have some appealing pieces of tech it's just going to be hard for an unknown or not well known brand make a splash in the crowded market for US consumers.
Nokia and their Android phone are official! It's going to be the in-between line above the Asha series but below the Lumia line, known as Nokia X. They're similar in design with their current phones in the market....just Android. My only issues is that it doesn't have direct affiliation with Google service or the Play Store. It's all inclosed with it's own store or Microsoft services. Which is the BIGGEST issue! Microsoft...on an Android device? It'll be interesting to see if the big M keeps the X line around. Microsoft is in works of owning Nokia mobility. We'll need to let this play out. I hope they keep it and see that Android is clearly superior than Windows phone, my opinion anyways.
Now let's get rid of the elephant in the room....Samsung. Oh how I loathe thee. The S5 is official, however I don't think it's fair to call it the next Galaxy S phone. It's more like, the S4s. That's right, I said it. Minor spec bump and some new hardware but nothing drastic. They copied Apple....again. Will anyone use the heart rate monitor on the back next to the flash? If you're silly. It's a gimmick. The fingerprint reader on the home button will be useful, if they link it with more mobile payment services besides PayPal. Then there's the fake perforated leather backing. Just make an all metal phone! It's more higher end.
The real show from Samsung was the Gear Fit. This is what a smartwatch should be! Just rotate the icons to go with the way you'd view a watch, and it would've been perfect....and add the telecommunication things that the Gear 2 has, then it would be AWESOME!
MWC had some hits and misses. The biggest thing that I got excited for was....the 2015 Ford Focus. Ha! Updated interior and the Aston Martin esque grill hit the Focus and it looks good!

MWC-Hola Mobile
Mobile World Conference is just days away!
What to expect? Samsung will most definitely unveil the Galaxy S5. Now if you know me or read my past posts, you know that I hate Samsung hardware. I'm hopeful that they finally step their game up to more high end materials. Also, all the talk of a more "simple" TouchWiz skin is good news. We'll have to wait and see.
I'm also hopeful for HTC's successor to the One. Sure, it's not going to be officially debuted at MWC, but shortly after it will. Thanks to @eveleaks, we've seen some legit images of the device. I've always been a fan of HTC hardware. The successor might look like the current model, and that's okay. It's a beautiful piece of technology. I'm just a stock Android kind of guy. Sense doesn't appeal to me. I suppose I could use Nova Launcher on it or something. Hmmmmm....haven't thought about switching my daily driver.
Nokia is also rumor to release the Nokia X or Project Normandy. With no access to the Play Store, this will be a hard sell to more developed markets. It's not targeted for those markets though. It's a low-range device for developing markets. I love Nokia! My first phone was a Nokia 3589i. This thing was awesome! Tis the season...gimmie
It's been a while gang...my sincerest apologies. So without further delay, let's talk tech.
The holiday shopping is underway and there are SOOOOO many goodies to be purchased for your naughty and nice recipients. I recently was given/bought two items that I personally think, will be great for any person looking a little tech in their holidays.
My birthday was in October and my brother got me Nintendo 3DS. For those of you who know me, I worked at GameStop back in the day, so I was familiar with all gaming systems at the time. DS was big and it was in my time at GameStop when DSi came out, followed by the XL line. I also caught the coattails of the 3DS launch. I must admit, when I first played that Street Fighter demo, I got sick by the 3D effect. I never considered getting one. I had my DS Lite and liked it....for the time being.
I like to upgrade or have the newest thing. It's just who I am. The 3DS though, wasn't that for me. At it's launch it was super pricey, lacked good amount of games, and had it's screen concerns for parents.
When I opened my gift to see the 3DS, I was shocked. This was around the time Pokemon X and Y was released too. We started talking about our past with Pokemon and Gameboy in general. We both had nostalgia moments about it. He put a lot of thought into picking this out, and I must admit...it was a great choice. Pokemon X is still my only physical game I own, but I've played some demos of other stuff that I downloaded through the EShop.
Every time I hold it, I think back to the days of my first indigo Gameboy Color I had. Nintendo did such a great job with the Gameboy and converting to the DS. I believe the handheld gaming market is still Nintendo's forte. The downsides? I would like the next version to have dual thumbsticks. I know that doesn't pertain to the 3DS, but seriously Nintendo...it makes sense. Just do it already. Especially when you release peripherals with attached thumbsticks and then you abandon it with a new handheld. Not cool.
I can't wait to add to my game library as well as utilize it more. The 3D thing still doesn't set well with my stomach, but it's a powerful handheld. I also love the clam shell design that Nintendo debuted on the Gameboy Advance SP YEARS ago.
Now onto a different handheld...my new tablet.
Again, for those of you who know me (and if you read past blog posts) I absolutely love and adore Apple. I bought a 64gb, wifi, iPad 2 shortly after they were release. I didn't use it a lot when I first got it, but with the addition of a keyboard case, I used it more than my MacBook Pro or desktop at home.
What impressed me the most was the longevity of it. iPad 3, 4, new, and whatever other versions they had, the 2 stood right against them. Sure, it technologically was inferior, it held up with most of my demands and wishes though.
All seemed well until Apple released iOS 7...oh dear lord. I have a previous post about my disgust with iOS 7, so read that. iOS 7 ruined my iPad 2. Apps wouldn't load, constant freezing, even complete shutdowns were a regular ordeal. I decided enough was enough.
I played and dabbled with the smaller tablets available and fell in love with the Nexus line. I grown fond of the Android platform and enjoyed the offerings it provided. I also thought a smaller tablet would be the best option. More portable, lighter, easier to handle, etc. I caved last month and bought the Nexus 7.
I own a 32gb, wifi model and I'm very pleased. I just recently got the 4.4 KitKat update which is great. I also love that my phone and tablet now have the same apps, and share off each other in a way. My only gripes so far, I wish it had expandable memory. I mean seriously, I use the cloud and Google Drive yes, but I like everything on my device. That's why I still have an iPod Classic. I want all my music, videos, and pictures, with me. Also, I would've like to get a 4G model if Verizon wasn't being jerks about their demands for the tablet. Long ordeal, don't want to rant about it.
Wrap-up
The 3DS' game library is massive and it plays DS games as well. The DS library alone is beyond huge. There's also lots of holiday bundles with games included. I'd even check out the 3DS XL. Resolution isn't as sharp, but if you have bad eyes or just want a bigger screen, it's a solid choice as well.
The Nexus 7 is by far the best tablet VALUE. I didn't say the best tablet, I said the best VALUE. For $229, you get a 16gb, wifi enabled, smaller tablet. The recent iPad mini with retina display is $400....um, save the cash. Unless your in another ecosystem. You need to be in the Google ecosystem to really appreciate it. It you want just light reading, casual gaming, and social media though, the Nexus is the way to go.

Big screens need bigger pockets
Phablets....are they phones or are they tablets?
I went to Verizon yesterday with my parents to assist them upgrading their phones. They both had Droid Razrs. A perfectly suitable phone for their needs. Camera, email, and nice display. They both had mentioned that they (and myself) miss the perfect and wonderful keyboard off of our old Tours we all had. Verizon had the Droid 4 on special for FREE with two year contract. Thought it was done and done! As they we're looking at all the phones the noticed....the Note. (Noticed the NOTE. Get it?)
They're fascination for a physical keyboard was now turned to a massive screen. 5.7" to be exact. Much bigger than the Droid 4's screen. Even if you hold the Note 3 horizontally, the on screen keyboard is bigger than the Droid physical keyboard.
I began playing with the display model and I have to say, it's a fantastic device. I hate TouchWiz, as mentioned in several other posts. That could easily be changed with a launcher though. The S pen functionality is super! Draw a box for quick access to popular apps? Sold. Jot notes down and have the phone convert them into contacts or phone numbers? Brilliant. Fake leather backing? Improvement over cheap plasticy feeling backs like S4.
When we got home with the phones, I read on The Verge and CNET that HTC announced the HTC One Max. A 5.9" screen monster with the same gorgeous HTC One design and aluminum body that made it so great. Spec wise it's the same as the One but with expandable memory, bigger screen, and oh yes...a finger print scanner. Android can do it too Apple.
I still don't understand why phones are tip toeing into tablet territory. It appeals to some, but not me. I have my Droid Maxx and it has a 5" screen. Seems plenty to me. I still want to be able to put my phone in my pocket. Not have to carry it or put it in a bag.
The Note 3 is a fantastic device with the latest internals. Better processor, three gigs of ram, gorgeous display, etc. For my parents, it may be more phone then they can handle. Being Samsung, all the gestures and add-ons will appeal to them. They won't be able to appreciate the pure power that phone has.
I watched them play with them when I got home from class last night and I have to say, it was so much fun. They were like kids on Christmas once they discovered something new they could do. Granted, I'm going to have to be tech support for the rest of my life for them, but it keeps bringing faces like I saw last night, it's worth it.
That's why I'm passionate about technology. Bringing people together and making an impactful difference. Now the bad thing is...I want a Note 3. Dang.

That screen has some curves
Rewind to earlier this year, Samsung announced and demoed curved and flexible screen technologies. Back to the present and Samsung states they'll release a curved display phone by the end of October.
This isn't the first time Samsung has done a curved screen on a phone. In 2011 they introduced the Galaxy Nexus. This was the first phone with a curved display. Granted, it was curved so that when you placed it on your ear the curve would flow onto your cheek and closer to your mouth.
With the new curved displays coming out, they are OLED. That means each LED on the display is emitting it's own light and colors. With normal LED displays, a light source is placed behind them to display the colors and light.
We've seen curved displays coming to televisions to "immerse" the viewer. I personally think it's a gimick. Even on a smaller scale, it sounds kind of silly to me. I wouldn't mind a book like display. Imagine this, you have your phone and your surfing a website. Just unfold your phone size screen and you now have a tablet. How about this, a scroll. Think of unraveling a screen to watch or view something. It's truly remarkable.
We'll see what this phone is packing in the coming weeks. It'll be interesting to see it implemented in a consumer product instead of just prototypes.

Is "gold" the new craze?
When the rumors of an iPhone in gold came up, I have to be honest, I thought it was a joke. Sure enough, the rumors were spot on.
iPhone 5S now comes in three colors instead of the traditional two. Black has been replaced with space gray. Silver takes over instead of white. With the third being gold. In all the pictures I've seen, it looks more like a champagne color, but that's just me.
To add fuel to the fire, gold is the most demanded color too! Apple claims they have scarce supplies of the gold ones. Really Apple, really? It's just a color for your aluminum. Shouldn't be that difficult I would think.
Apple released the iPhone 5S along with it's cheaper and brighter counter part, iPhone 5C on September 20, 2013. Wouldn't you know it, Apple broke sales records again with over nine million dollars in sales that weekend. Impressive to say the least.
No one had expected the gold iPhone to be so popular. To counter that, Samsung has announced two colors of the Galaxy S4 with gold. Brown and pink phones with gold accents....let that soak in for a second. I'm not doubting they won't sell well. Especially because Samsung dominates the Android phone market. I just believe there are better colors other than brown and pink that compliment gold so much better. For instance, a black and gold phone would look sharp. Dare I say, down right gorgeous...if done well.
On to my negative news. It's time to say goodbye to Blackberry. The company has filed a buyout for $4.7 billion. It's unfortunate that the long lived Blackberry is coming to an end. I had a Tour and it was by far my favorite phone. The full QWERTY keyboard felt so good to type on. I blazed through emails and texts. With demand for iPhones and Androids, Blackberry was put on the back burner. They would stay there for years until finally calling it quits. Here's to you Blackberry. Cheers.

Year of the Playstation
Let's be honest, this generation of consoles hasn't been the best for Sony. PS2 was the most popular console until the Xbox 360 came into play in 2005. When the PS3 surfaced, things were rough....really rough. An expensive machine that seem to have issue after issue along with the various bundles they offered.
Fast forward to now and PS3 is outselling Xbox 360, not by much though. Sales have sharply declined for the big companies due to anticipation for the Xbox One and PS4. Sony seemed to learn from it's mistake in 2006 and is using all of Xbox's flaws to it's advantage. For instance, Xbox One price at $500 so PS4 only hours later announced $400 for its black box. Take that Microsoft! Xbox must always be connected to internet, not for the Playstation. Microsoft would later change their minds on the connection to internet requirements after huge amounts of feedback from consumers.
What's truly promising is the newly announced PS VitaTV. Sure it plays Vita games on the big screen, but that's not even the best part. You can stream your PS4 games onto a TV that is connected to PS VitaTV (They really need a new name for that). Imagine you're at home when your boyfriend/girlfriend walks into the room and wants to watch a movie. You happen to be playing "Watch Dogs" on the particular TV with your PS4. With VitaTV connected on another TV in your house, you can pick up where you left off in your game. They get to watch their movie and you get to play your game...everyone wins.
Playstation is off to a great start. The fact that it's coming out earlier in the states is a bonus for them as well. Will Playstation win this next-gen console war? What do you think?

What does the "C" and "S" stand for?
By now you may have heard about what the big A announced yesterday. Not one but TWO new phones. I say new very carefully though, let's break it down.
iPhone 5S
If you're familiar with iPhones of the past, you'll know this is typical Apple style. Update the processor, camera, and networks and BAM, the new iPhone. Another new addition to this generation is colors. The 5S can be yours in silver, a champagne gold, and space gray....really....space gray? Ignore the lack luster name for it, the device looks gorgeous. Oh ya, probably the biggest new hardware feature is the fingerprint sensor in the physical home button. Just press down on it to unlock your phone or make purchases in the App Store. It's a unique idea that I'm unsure about. I like the security aspect and ease of just scanning my thumb rather than remember a billion passwords for all my services. Apple assures consumers that it won't save the print in the cloud or on servers, just on the device. I can't help but wonder...what if though.

It's an update iPhone 5...yep, that's it. Enhanced camera and bigger battery, but all said it's iPhone 5 all around. I've watched several videos and read other tech sites about the feel of the cheaper poly-carbonate body and they're all impressed by the build. I can't wait to put my hands on it to see how "iPhone" this new one feels. With "C" possibly meaning color, it does come in five of them. Blue, pink, green, yellow, and white. I personally like the green one the most. Reminds me of the Hulk.
Now onto my rants...brace yourself
I think iOS7 looks ridiculous. You know what they say, looks can be deceiving. So until I get my hands on it September 18, I still think it looks like Hello Kitty on steroids. iOS7 will now include Pages, Keynote, Spreadsheets, iMovie, and iPhoto...after I paid $4-$10 each app not even a year ago? Come on...bad Apple. I was also sad not to hear anything else like updates to Macs, iPods, or even a date for the Mac Pro release. I really wanted that "one more thing" to happen and it never happened, minus a musical performance that last longer than anything else. Felt like Christmas morning waking up to a stocking full of coal.
That said, Apple is going to have another event in October where we should see, hopefully, way more updates to everything. iPad Mini with Retina Display is still on my radar. I'd also love a new MacBook Pro with new Haswell processors for extended battery life. Perhaps even a glimpse at iWatch...just needs a better name. I'm not upset with Apple, I'm just ready for the next thing to wow me.

Droid Maxx, I've got the power!
I'm usually not the one to adopt a piece of technology until a few months after it's initial release. I want updates, patches, and other issues addressed. Along with that, I also want to see other reviews and people's opinions.
That said, when I heard about the Droid Maxx....I pre-ordered it the first day I could. I was up for an upgrade and I absolutely despised my Samsung Galaxy S3. If you've read my past post, I rant on why I dislike Samsung products. Cheaply made and the TouchWiz skin on Android is horrendous.
I received my Maxx and as soon as I opened the box I was surprised by just how heavy this phone is. The Droid Maxx is packing an outrageous 3500 mAh battery. Motorola claims 48 hours of usage and 25 days of standby. I confidently say that I've had no issues hitting that 48 hour mark, sometimes longer. That's with constant social network check-ups, email, some videos, occasionally taking pictures, and of course the messaging and calling factor. It is a phone after all.
It also feels extremely premium. I've dabbled and played with the HTC One and iPhone 5, two of the most attractive handsets on the market currently. Probably cause of their all aluminum body. The Maxx may not have aluminum but it feels great in the hand. The Kevlar backing is extremely comfortable as well. I don't feel like I'll drop the phone and it doesn't show finger prints, unlike the Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4.
This Droid has to be one of the fastest phones I've ever played/used. The boot time from off to home screen is insanely quick. I never had an issue with the phone not keeping up with my constant switching between apps and web pages. I did have Vine crash on me a couple times, but an update came out a couple days later and I haven't had issues since. The Maxx has an X8 architecture. They basically claim it has 8 cores but it's compiled of a 1.7 dual core processor, quad core gpu, separate core for language processor, and one for contextual computing. That X8 is paired with 2GB or ram, so it's plenty quick.
With the contextual computing and language processor, the new Droids and the upcoming Moto X have touchless control. Basically, say "OK Google Now" and give the phone a command. Anything at all. I've seen the videos of other users and commercials where this feature works perfectly...not so much for me. I can't figure out if it just doesn't recognize my voice or if it was the tone of my voice or what exactly. When it works, it's great, but it was a hit and miss for me.
While I'm talking about negatives, this camera is not great. It's a ten megapixel (an unusual choice) back facing camera and a two megapixel on the front. They're ok, nothing to rave about. What is neat, simple shaking your wrist left to right a couple of times, automatically opens the camera app. A helpful yet mildly annoying way to access the camera. I look pretty silly waving my phone in the air just to take a picture. It's also not running the newest and greatest of Android 4.3. Shipped and still has 4.2.2 as of 9/6/2013. Especially disappointing considering this is one of the first phones after Google bought Motorola mobility. Also, Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat this week. When will I get the update to 4.3 and now 4.4?
One issue, or what I thought would be an issue, is the internal memory. It ships with 32GB, non-removable and non-expandable. I always want my music with me so I don't have to use data when I'm not connected to WIFI. However, the times I'm not connected to WIFI are in my car. So it's not that big of a setback to me.
In conclusion if you want a phone with a great camera, don't get this device. If you want full HD display, not on this 720p device. You don't get this phone for those aspects. You're paying the pretty penny for the battery. I can't tell you how awesome it is, to go two full days without worrying about charging my phone until I go to bed. It's wonderful! That said, the $299 price is steep just for a huge battery in a phone. It's a good phone all around, but the battery sets it apart. You could save $100 and get the Droid Ultra which is super slimming and less battery. Save another $100 and go with the Droid Mini with a smaller screen, smaller battery, and less memory. All three of these phones are the exact same as far as processor. I see the Droid Maxx as more of the traveler's phone. The business professional who is constantly going and moving from appointment to appointment or traveling lots.
It's a solid phone. I loved it when I got it and I'm still impressed with it. I'm still discovering new things with each day I have it. I'll have this phone for a year or two so I'm curious how the battery stacks up as time progresses. So if power and battery are your prime issues for a phone. This is the beast for you.

IFA = I'll Forget After
So Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 3 and the long rumored Galaxy Gear. To be frank, I'm not impressed...yet.
The Note 3 is a bigger screen, better spec, and has wacky features that Samsung strongly push. For example, TouchWiz is a joke. If they would put pure Android on they're products I would be on board. Samsung also packs in all the gesture features as seen on other Galaxy products. Scrolling with your eye movement, swiping pages with your hand, turning away and your video pauses, etc. Those appeal to some people but not me.
Also, all their products feel cheap and plasticy....all of them. To change that they put a fake leather back on it...what? I would think that would wear off, fade, come off, or whatever so quick! I would have to buy one of those wallets or elegant cases they showed off. Granted, the view screen wallet case is cool, I like that one. It is convenient to take a picture, answer a call, or see a message without having to unlock the screen and go into the app.
Now how about the S Pen...gross. Just let the consumer use a stylus if they want, don't lock in additional features with the dang pen. I have never seen anyone go "Oh, let me jot this down real quick" with the S Pen.
Galaxy Gear....promising but it has a long way to go. I despise the camera on there. I personally think it allows pervs to be more pervy. I can see a safety factor there too though, like taking a picture of your kidnapper or a license plate if you're caught in a hit and run. It's also MASSIVE on the wrist. I think the sixth generation iPod nano had the right size. I do like how you can have a phone call through it, but I don't want to hear another person having conversations over speakerphone. I don't like it with a regular cell phone and I most definitely won't like it in this form.
Samsung is innovating and progressing, that's good and that's needed in a "dry" technology field currently. I just feel like they crammed some things together real quick just to be ahead of team Apple. Apple is up next for big tech products conference. We'll see what happens. iPhone 5C and 5S are for sure but what else Apple? Step up and "woo" me.

What's up Moto
Just pre-ordered my Droid Maxx and I'm really excited. Worth the $300 price tag? Probably not. Especially for the specs of the device, but if you consider that 3500mah battery...game changer.
That's what your paying for here with the Maxx, a massive battery. Motorola is claiming 48 hours of "light" use....that's insane with today's smartphones.
I wish AT&T didn't have first dibs on the MotoMaker for the upcoming MotoX. That would've sold me right there. Over 500+ custom options for your phone, "Designed by you" as Motorola put it. It's an interesting concept and should be a key selling feature for that device. It'll probably convert die hard iPhone users...not drastically by any means.
In the end, I love tech, always have and always will. I want a new Nexus 7, new MacBook Air, PS4, new car, and the list continues. So I splurged on my phone, after all, I'm going to be on contract for the next two years with this thing. I better like it right?

A bittersweet bite out of the world Apple
Apple's legendary keynote addresses introduce the world of new technology to the world every year, sometimes 2 or 3 times a year. Today however was the day everyone waited for, iPhone 5. Surprise surprise, we were giving the new model.
iPhone 5 sports a larger screen, thinner size, better processor, better camera, and LTE support...about damn time. If you had followed the tech hype, you would note that this new phone is the exact same design as the leaked photos and video all over the web. This is a shocker, at least to me anyway. When the iPhone 4 was leaked prior to it's release, it was a fluke by an Apple representative. They carelessly left the phone at a bar and the phone was sold to Gizmodo for an outrageous amount of money. Steve Jobs even jokingly said at the keynote for the iPhone 4, you've all seen it already. This new iPhone is exactly what the pictures and videos showed. No all new product design, just exactly what was online. It's rather a shame personally. It's unlike Apple for the companies secrets to see the surface before a keynote. I think Jobs would be very upset if he knew what was happening with his company that he started.
It wasn't just iPhone upgrades, welcome the new iPods. Shuffle, nothing new, moving on. The Nano is back to an actual larger screen and back with video playback. I loved the 5th generation model. It did everything and was very thin. This idea is on the 7th generation, however; I personally think it looks like a Nokia Lumia and Sony PSVita met the iPod and had a nasty threesome. The user interface is now circled bubbles, like the Vita, very unlike Apple. I do like the touchscreen, I wish they brought back the camera. Also, I like the controls on the side. That said, the overall Nano is not a pretty package. Not to imagine the 80's color scheme they chose is awful. iPod touch get the 80's paint job as well. It share's the larger screen just like the iPhone 5, better processor, and Siri. I've always like the touch, it's an iPhone minus the phone. The addition of Siri is a great touch (nice pun.)
My main and most particular issue with this keynote was the introduction of the new dock connector named "Lightning." This is a bad, bad, bad decision. Especially after Apple agreed to the FCC's wanting a universal dock connector. As other competitors moved to the micro USB format, Apple takes a U-turn. Apple knows that consumers will have to buy new accessories and other products for their new goodies. I doubt it makes a significant difference compared to the standard 30 pin connector. Companies will make the products and consumers will still buy the stuff, it's just sad that Apple went back on it's support for the universal connector.
It seems like I'm bashing Apple for the announcements and products from this keynote. I still love my iPad, even though the current iPad and future iPad's will switch to the Lightning connector. I'm also always attached to my MacBook Pro. I know they make great products. I use Apple products for there reliability and functionality. I'm not saying the new ones aren't. I just believe that this is very unApple. I feel like they rushed to make these products just because consumers demanded new products. I know what Apple is capable of and this isn't up to par. It doesn't even matter either way, consumers will buy the goodies and Apple will make a shenanigan ton of money. It'll be interesting to see where this leads Apple.

LTE....where you at?
What I don't get is all of this LTE 4G stuff. I understand what it is, I don't understand why they're making so many products when it's not even available everywhere. Also companies will charge you even if you don't use it, because your device supports it. I say stick with 3G, but make it better. Don't introduce something new if it's not even available everywhere! Jeez.

Cell Phone Chaos!
Don't get me wrong, I love the newest and coolest thing! It's great, but it seems like no matter what piece of technology you get there is an updated, upgraded, or new version available. What I'm frustrated at primarily with, is the cell phone industry. Just a month or so ago, Motorola released the Droid Bionic for Verizon. They've been talking about this phone for over a year now, hype was huge! Best processor, screen, memory, it has it all....until now. Next month, Motorola will release the Droid Razr....just fyi, it's better than the Bionic. I'm not saying innovation is a bad thing, I just feel over-whelmed with what's out there. I'm slightly bias towards Apple but they do it right! One model of a product for a period of time, but update it frequently to keep it competitive and comparable with what's out there. Plus, these phones are expensive! An unlocked phone, that has all the bells and whistles can run anywhere from $400-$900.....for a phone people! So we sign the contracts so we get the lowest possible price! However within a few weeks...your new phone is now a dinosaur! It's just silly. I say cell phone manufactures should make a couple models a year but continuously upgrade the devices. Personal issue I have, you probably disagree....oh well. Ha! Big Month For Apple
Well it's end of the second week of October and it has already been quite an eventful month for Apple.
October 4
Apple has their keynote address, where they announced.....nothing new! Sure there is the iPhone 4S and now a white iPod touch, but that's it. I'm intrigued why they didn't unveil anything redesigned or brand new. This is the first time in 10 years were nothing was redesigned or new tech was announced. I will say price cuts on the iPod and iPhone models is very good news however. I'm also intrigued by the iPhone 4S' "Siri" technology. A personal assistant that doesn't just listen to your commands, it knows what you mean to say! Watch the full keynote for a demo at Apple's website. The new iPhone also has an upgraded processor and enhanced camera, nothing major, but worth noting.

Steve Jobs former CEO and newest member to Apple's board passes away. Already covered this in past blog posts. Still unfortunate to hear about this.
October 12
iOS 5 was released on iPod touches, iPhones, and iPads! I have it on my iPod and iPad and I'm loving it. Notification center is a great way to manage all my tweets, notifications, weather, stocks, and on iPhones it manages texts and voicemails! There are so many additions to iOS that I can't cover them all but check it out at Apple's website. Watch the videos!
